Live Suffer Die- A Voice form Beyond Death-  Digital/CD  ( Moribund Cult )

Suicidal Black metal with a strong Industrial element for sure is what we are getting here . Lance Gifford untimely demise this brings on the last chapter of his sickness to the world. I would very much say this is mixing elements of Mysticum, Havoc Unit, Silencer, Bethlehem and Shining ( Sweden) . Industrial  Black Dark metal ???? is that even a thing. Well with Live Suffer Die it clearly is. The vocal madness going on with the unsettling tones of guitars and noise electronic elements and arrangements . Make this so much more then the sum of the whole. The Vocalist Lörd Matzigkeitus of The Projectionist and The Black Sorcery is one ill minded son of a bitch and makes this a full on adventure to listen to and explore. There is a fragile fantasy meets occult flavor going on here and then the moments of full on Industrial black noise is really what takes it all to the next level. The raw and complex sides are normally not done to this level. Moribund its been a while since you have had something blow me away but with this welcome back ...

Godthrymm- Reflections- Digital, LP, CD ( Profound Lore )

With ex members of My Dying Bride, Solstice and Anathema what are you expecting to hear it damn well better be sorrowful dark Doom metal with Gothic and disturbing overtone. Yes Sir and Madam this is just what you want. Death/Doom with a strong Epic and Goth movement. This is a heavy and majestic record to say the least.  I really do hear a darker power metal IE. Iced Earth or Nevermore element in the arranging as as well.  Yet Godthrymm have this hopefully side in the music as well.  Paradise lost, Moonspell and Sentenced all come into play here in that I'm listening to very much has the UK " Peaceville" Doom sound to it as well. I could just have this album on repeat over and over again it reminds me of all those Doom metal albums of the late 90's and early 00's that I adored so very much.  Godthrymn has this romantic darkness too it as well. Also the best parts of bands like  Theatre of Tragedy and Tristiana is you see where I'm coming from. Those throaty more raw vocals work with the moments of beautiful female vocals and those depressive warn guitar and bass tone. The Drums are never over played and that is what makes Doom so strong a good druming knowing how to add a progressive spin to those lumbering and sinister percussion.  Reflections is a major win across all elements.

Lychgate -Also sprach Futura- Digital, MLP, MCD ( Debemur Morti Productions )

Machine vs man... Future meets Dystopian future... Technology meets Cyberpunk. This is what I'm hearing on this  very futurist progressive Black meets Avant Doom release. The more I listening a few bands are going to mind Oxiplegatz, Aosoth, Ihsahn, Opeth and Edge of Sanity. Lychgate previous release blew me away and I thin with "Also spracj Futura" we have taken it to another level There are some amazing Scifi  extreme meets melodic dark metal moments that are totally winning me over . I feel moments of Deathspell Omega , Ved Buen Ende and Fen are pouring into this release as well . At times Lychgate is a horror movie at times it the grim of grimmest Avant Black metl and then they be come a full on Prog Death force. Lychgate are all over the place and it just fucking works . Greg of Esoteric is the voice and production and recording mastermind here and it works as there are those elements of his other project but this is not a similar band at all.  Lychgate like the unusual like  Arcturus, Ulver, Code, DHG etc and while never full those bands you get the feeling that are so much kindred spirits. I will always look forward to the next Lychgate exprience and so should you.

Autumn Tears- The Air Below the Water- Digital, 2CD (  Self Released)

Over three decades and you don't know who or what AutumnTears is then I think you are clearly living off this world for sure. Ted and the collection of dozens of folks over this time frame have been making some of the most wonder Neoclassic music full of Hope, Sorrow, Joy, Promise and Pain this side of Arcana, Dead can dance, Amber Asylum, Third and the Mortal, Elend and Rajna period.  With The Sir Below the water the only thing that changes are who Ted works with they are always as special a release as the last. At times this is truly one of the most beautiful engagements and then Autumn Tears become the tear jerker. I feel the same magic from this project I do when the holiday come and I get to see Trans siberian orchestra. The level of excellence never dissapears and I truly would be devastated if it did.  The Piano, strings layers of vocals from classical to operatic just sometimes words are lost. By the way Madder Mortem is one of my all time fave bands and that  Agnete sings on this makes me smile all the more. What else would you like me to say sometime music just speaks to you and with Autumn Tears this is very much the story.

Lucifer Star Machine -Devil's Breath- Digital, LP, CD  ( The Sign Records )

Alright you fuckers sometimes Rock and Roll is just suppose to be catchy, fun and kick ass and with  Lucifer Star machine its just that . Are you fan of bands like  Wildhearts, Social D,  Motorhead, Hanoi Rocks, Degeneration, HIM, Supersuckers, Face to Face and Dickies all this bands are were I come from with Lucifer Star Machine. They love to mix  Punk, Rockabilly, 80's Glam metal and 60's Surf rock. Lets just say it this album cover just kicks so much ass!! All this album does is make me want to move around and rock out . Nice work gentleman . This could be a massive FM radio album if there was still such a thing in USA or 90's MTV staple. Damn shame there is no real outlets for great rock n roll any more . Lets do a ground work campaign and get these guys on shows like  Conan obrien and Jimmy fallon and this is music that needs to be experience live for sure.

Dead End Finland - Inter Vivos- Digital, CD ( Inverse Records)
This is the 4th record by this band have I heard them before as I may have and wish I did as they play a style that makes me very please I call it  symphonic electro melodic death metal and its Finnish so he say those very pagan and fantasy elements to it .  Omnium Gatherum, Amorphis, October tides, Katatonia, Dark Tranquility, Swallow the sun, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Dan Swano. This is one catchy as all can be Melodic Death force. The modern symphonic death style really just make you either draw to it or run as some will feel this is to cheesy or poppy in elements  and I will say that sound and tone just make it all the more epic and powerful for me. The vocals go from amazing sung vocals to those melodic death gutturals. Look lets be honest the synths play a major roll in the music being created here an without them the album would not be the same. Dead end Finland you have clearly added a new fan here and I really think with my readers listening you will get many many more.

WARDAEMONIC - Acts of Repentance - Digital, CD (Transcending Obscurity Records )

Technical  Black metal with some very war metal overtone from the land of OZ. Austrialia has some blistering and ugly black metal from its nation maybe its because a large majority of the nation is a bleak and unforgiving desert. I not sure but sometimes I really do feel that way ?
I really do love that more midtempo Black/Death elements and the way it goes from Epic to Barbaric in a moments notice. The production on this is very very well done and you can hear everything its in thar Emperor or Dimmu Borgir vibe for me but they perform more like  Watian and Marduk in the delivery. This is not raw in anyway but that make this no less the brutal at times. I feel a strong love for bands like  Incantation and Panzerfaust as well.
WARDAEMONIC is all about the corpse paint life and that is what is needed with a force like that. I like when they move more into the industrial / avant black sounds tonally like  Blut Aus Nord it really works for them. Vocally we have a very venom inspired attack . Yes the vocalist feels like he is attacking you with is words and that is a very old school Black metal approach and really comes across all the more impressive with an album like " Acts of Repentance ". Time for you to see what you get out of this ..
