Where the Synthetic meets the Organic ...

FIX8:SED8- Warning Signs- CD/Digital ( Self Released)

So we Start off with Electro Industrial force that reminds me alot of Bands like  FLA, Wumpscut, Skinny Puppy and Information Society with a mix of some the COP Intl and Waxtrax  darker electro from late 90's early 00's with splashes Dark Vinyl more electronic releases (Funny being that they are a German band and Dark Vinyl is a German label)  I hear a lot of KFMDM and Laibach at times too here . It's that heavier very aggro danceable Electronics that metal heads like myself can respect and listen too. At times i was afraid they were going into that Cleopatra world but it does not . Do all remember the store Digital Ferret this would be so at home in that world or even Projekt records today. I love the driving synths and orchestal presentation it clear is achieving . The robotic and over effected vocals work to well . If you are Ministry fan this is between Twich and Land of rape and honey . Trying to help my less industrial fans.  I would even say there are some of the Darker Depeche Mode elements going on here to close it all out . Not that this is something I'm going to listen to all the time but for the genre it's rather impressive and the Samples in all the differ tracks from movies and TV are very interesting to say the least. I like when FIX8:SED8 are darker and more aggressive of course but at the end of the day it says sinister and that is all that really matters to me.

Nihtwintre/Albanach ar Dheis - Split-Tape/ Digital (Epicurus )

To Start off I like to use the terms Epic or Post Black metal for the 3 Tracks I'm hearing from Nihtwintre.  These Blackened metal ethereal and noisy symphonic folks are from Seattle and have a lot in common with that Cascadian sound of the North west USA. There is a mix of  ugly, beautiful and otherworldly on the 1st three tracks that Nihtwintre presented . Now on to  Albanach ar Dheis from the frozen north of Canada and with these mavens we are getting more a raw and folky Black Orchestral vibe . The mix of male grim and sung female vocals work in an almost viking metal way to the over all sound.  Albanach ar Dheis is really like a rawer verison of of Dimmu Borgir or a bit stripped down version of Bal Sagoth  I really feel between the two . There is even hints of  Cradle of Filth here . I think this band would have found a home on label like Cacophonous Records. With 3 songs fromNihtwintre and 2   songs from Albanach ar Dheis  you get a very good picture of these bands so support if you like what is said here and take a listen .

God Body Disconnect - The Mist Between Mirrors-CD/ Digital (Cryo Chamber)

There is a solem and righteous feeling everytime I listen to a new God Body Disconnect album this is Ambient Ethno Guitar/Synths and Field recordings with thought provoking  Spoke world/ Prose going on from time to time.  Cryo Chamber really has a style for many of it's artist's and it's Minimal and Spacial mixed with a darkness that will never let you go. It's not sinister in the way black or death metal creates its more of a force around you that makes you uncomfortable then let's you know its not here to hurt you just show you another course of path .  The Mist Between Mirrors as a whole makes you feel very alone and reflective in what almost feels like a world that has gone the way of a mass extinction and very few are here anymore . You can hear the nature, oceans and sounds of a world at the very last days. God Body Disconect you create headphone theater for sure and I would want it no other way. If you like Rapoon and Steve Roach you are going to love this if you have not heard the other projects what are you waiting for I would tell you to check out most of Manifold Records from the past as you will love that label as well . Brilliant and reflective as much as forward thinking and dark ambient masterpiece in the making .

Glassing -Spotted Horse- Digital/CD/LP (Brutal Panda)

Well mmm ahhhh oooooo grrrrrrr  this band is a fucking trip and very hard to explain mix Post Rock, Post Hardcore, Noise Rock, Avantgarde everthing then just for shits and giggle give it some metalcore and screamo and end it all with Dark Ambient backdrops welcome to the begining of what I would say is Glassing . Its like  Oathbreaker, Bird in Row and Mouth of the Architect got together to mess around and this  brilliant madness came forth from the speakers . Yes there is even a nightmarish pop element to all of this if that doesnt confuse us all the more  I hear stuff like  Polvo , Rodan and His hero is gone at time as well too. I'm not sure what to say sometimes . This album is noisy Post everything and wonderful and you need it or your life will just suck a bit more then it needs too. Was that good enough ????

VISIONS -Temples-CD/Digitial (Cyclic Law)

So the label owner is at his Dark Industrial/ Post Industrial shananagins again and you know what fool's "It Kicks some major ass!!!!".  Frederic you make some Dark epic spacial and nightmarish electronic hymns to say the least this reminds me of stuff like  Sigur Ros and Caspian meets  Septhiroth and In Slaughter Natives and it you don't see the correlation between the sounds and styles then you need to check out all four bands and come back and listen to Visions .There is a huge similar vibe I get to Lustmord and Schloss Tegal from Visions as well in that dark and haunting hiding in the shadows ambient overtone. There are even minimalist  symphonic overtones going on with " Temples".  It is not easy to create soundscapes, feelings and  aural textures like this it needs to be layered and thought over and blended into something this this power and passion . Visions is on the cutting edge of the this wave of Dark Industrial music and I hope Frederic never stops this or his  Doom metal creations as both of them I listen too , enjoy and always look forward to the next chapter.

Moon Far Away -Athanor Eurasia-CD/ Digital/LP (Auerbach Tonträger/Prophecy Productions)

Wow  a full on neo folk  meet pagan/ heathen inspired force. This could come from world of bands like  Tenhi, Of the wand and the Moon , Sol Invitus, Changes, Ostara and Blood Axis . Damn this is impressive with the acoustic guitars, strings, horns.  organs, simple wonderful percussion . Mixed in with the folky male and female vocals " Very Blood Axis in vocals"  This Russian group are on their fifth release it now time to go listening to the others. The have elements of bands like  Hedingarmna and Dead can Dance at times well. The Russian folk elements really give me chills with those very ethno vocals and local folk instruments . You can feel the past and heritage in everything that  Moon Far Away are creating. You can hear the struggles of their people and strife they when through and that doesn't always come through in Neo/ Pagan Folk music like this . Moon Far Away need to raise that flag high and keep this pride in the forefront for ever more.
