We have gone off the tracks edition ...

Rainer Landfermann- Mein Wort in Deiner Dunkelheit- CD/ Digital (Self Released)

The the manic vocals behind  "Dictius Te Necare" some of the most intense vocals for Bethlehem is back and let me tell you the madness and sickess is still there this time out as a solo artist there is a bit more experimentation and Avant Rock and Jazz elements going on but the vocals are as torchered and insane as every. The layers of this off the wall and wonderfull vocals are really what make this a special release . If you could Mix Devil Doll, Mayhem, Bethlehem and D.H.G. into one musical force you would most clearly be on the right path. I never heard Pavor but if his bass playing is as good as it is here Landfermann is skilled beyond many . The choirs and orchestral movements work so well with well just down right crazy and sometimes Noise arrangements. If you like him with Bethlehem then you need to hear this as in two plus decades Rainer has come back with an album to blow minds and ideals on want experimental extreme music can and will be .

Swamp Witch- Dead Rituals - Digital/ CD/ Tape  (Transylvanian Tapes)

Mmmmm  Dirty , Dirgy and Delightful . Sludge and Crusty Doom is something that does my soul good especially when it has the Low and slow Death/Doom over tone to just give you that sickness bands like  Grief, Eyehategod, Corrupted and Mournful Congregation gives you with touched of amazing bands like Evoken , Morgion and Dusk..  Just look at the album cover did you think you were getting childrens lulabys here . Come on folk . This is ugly music to let the scum of the world be cleasned in all a bay Sludge Doom can do it there are some very even Neurosis and  Melvins brilliance going on through out the tracks that make this album more and more impressive listen by listen. "Dead Rituals" is just as it claims rituals to remove the unwanted from this realm.  Swamp witch you ahve not dissappointed for a moment here and I will end with horns up high on this one!!!!

Äsping- The Lion of Piraeus - Digital/ LP (AnnapurnA)

Ethereal, Haunting, Sinister, Otherworldly and Avantgarde.. These are just the start of the picture of what Äsping is creating. Do you all remember Aghast on Cold Meat industry these are the vocals im geting Neoclassical and Operatic but so very powerful and terrorifying . Then we have textured Black Ambient meets Drone Noise guitars and layers of feedback that just make you will like your watching a most violent opera for the end times. After all this you still ahve a hopeful feeling as the vocals are beautiful and intoxication at the same time. the creepy whispered vocal are a bit much. It reminds me of   Elend and Atrox at time as well as the very odd the wall stuff Dead can Dance did from time to time or even Diamanda Galas.  I even here a big influence of  Ulver Theme of Heaven and Hell Album. Äsping  is not a fast easy listen but so well worth the time if you want to hear the fringes of Black, Ambient and Darkwave/ Drone in the most of ritualistic and occult .

Black Passage-The Veil- Digital/CD (Self Released)

Dark and Brooding  Proggish Dark metal that is somewhere between Opeth, Katatonia mixed with some very Melodic  Gothenburg Death metal moments. I also hear elements of Deftones and Bullet for my valentine. Yes this is  Fallujah and there are some very strong touches of that band here as well.I want to call this Ethereal Avant Death metal but I know it's not a thing  but maybe now it is lol. There is a very unsettling feel to this all and then out of no where this become very Post Black metal and Post metal . I'm not really sure what to think anymore the distant and melodic vocals with some very guttural Death vocals really works so well with the eerie and left of center extreme metal going on.  If Death metal, Post Metal , Melodic Blakc metal and Gothic Indie rock all came together you would perfectly have  Black Passage. The more I listen the more the addiction grows for bands like this . Check them out and let the sounds flow over you as well .
