Venom Prison- Samsara- CD, LP. Digital (Prosthetic Records)
I'm going to start with review with using Bad ass as that is what Vemon prison are Bas ass . The vocal /war cries of the vocalist Larrisa are just epic , power and fury . She makes the music mor extreme and viseral. I want to say that Vemon prison are a mix of some of my favorite styles Post Hardcore, Black Death and Crust . As when these elements come into the fold there is no stopping a band like Vemon prison. Ugly and Catchy is the vibe that comes off this on each and every song. There are anthems for a time of uncertianity and a world were change is coming faster then most can accept or want. This album gives me hope for an extreme music underground and its only album number two for them. I really want to see where this band heads 2 and 3 albums from now. I feel the album cover really projects the over all tone of album and I can not wait to see this band live. It's the new face of extreme music for sure and I'm on this ride till it or I burn out for sure.

Holding Absence- S/T- CD/ Digital/ LP (Sharp Tone)
So today using the work Post seems like the tage for anything that has haunting melodies and extremity mixed into metal and hardcore music and they like to mix electronics elements into the fold as well . Yes , yes and yes . This is what Holding Absence is and so much more the mix of beautiful and sorrow filled clean , growled and screamed vocals then those synths and harmonic guitars . The warm strong bass tones and drumming that comes from Post Hardcore and Emo . I want to say if Discord or Jade Tree had metal bands they would sound just like this . This is like the best ans worst of all the emotions anyone can have through the most pissed off time in thier lives and they are just trying to project it to a world that is not truly listening . If you like bands like Currents, Beartooth, Novelists and While She sleeps this is going to be a very magical moment to you. I'm ending with I didn't know you could add Melody and darkness in this way and make ti sound hopeful and hateful at the same time.

Misery Index-Rituals of Power-CD/LP/Digital (Season of Mist)
Six albums into the career and they maybe have gotten it perfect this time for me. Mixing Grind, Black Death and thrashing elements into a wall of anger and musical possession that very few can recreate. The vocals are mix of old School Death and extreme thrash metal this could have been an Earache or Old Scool Relapse ( Oh wait you were on Relapse lol) Death metal force if came out in late 80's early 90's .the solos are melodic blistering and the mosh part will make any pit explode. I know this is not a new band but so many bands could learn how to make extreme metal expand to so many more out there by listening to this album . This album really does just crush from being to end and those old grindcore elements really add that punk/hardcore vibe that works so well for a band like Misery Index. Youre turn to witness the power of a band like Misery Index

Noisem- Cease to Exist- CD/Digital /LP (20 Buck Spin)
Fast and Violent Punk driving Thrashing Grind. they are now a trio but the majestic oldschool Thrash of bands like Exodus,Slayer ,Kreator,Sodom and Hellhammer is all here and not missed a step. The are with bands like Dustbolt, Power trip, Vektor and Nuclear waving the banner for next extreme Thrash rival . Two to three minutes of faster then fuck grinding thrash. I would even say they have tons of Nuclear Assault and Exciter going on here . What more do you want this is dirty nasty fast and brilliant we all need bands like this and Noisem keep that banner going and look forward to seeing you live again. Kick ass through and through !!!!!

Raiju- Non Seqitur- Digital (Self Release)
This is a self released gem if you all miss out on I feel sad for you. They honestly mix Pop, Prog Metal, Metalcore,Screamo and Melodic Death metal into something that reminds me of Poheed and cambria, Old dead tree, Textures, Periphery , Gorjira, Arsis and Meshuggah for good measure. Raiju is a band that is criminally without a label and are so talented it is just simply mindblowing . The Vocals are all over Clean to Death to Prog the synths and guitars are from classic 70's prog to extreme metal. The Rhythm section is just over the top and make the prog and post metal elements shine. Were else do I go with praising a band like Raiju I don't its just time you to listen and make this a band that everyone knows by name. Dan Swano this is a band you need to help and mentor as you will never be disappointed
