Horror Pain Gore Death Productions- TREASONIST Interview up

1.Tell us about how the Grind Death hardcore machine came to be?

We formed in 2018 after Jason and Pete, our first vocalist, had the idea to form a grind project. Jason, our drummer, and myself (Andy, guitarist) were in a death metal band several years ago he wanted to do something else in more of a grindcore direction. He recruited Brian, our bass player, shortly thereafter and we put out our first EP later that year.  Pete left the band on good terms and we added our new vocalist Nate along with second guitarist Alex shortly thereafter.

2. Why not full album? What's the thought on split  LP with Y-INCISION?

Splits are a good place to experiment with new ideas. We also had two new members so we thought a split would be a good idea to test the waters with our new lineup.

3. Horror Pain Gore Death Productions how did you come to work with them?

Jason and Brian have both worked with HPGD in the past they came highly recommended. Everything has been great!

4. Oregon I know have a strong black metal scene. What's the grind and hardcore scene like there any stand out bands you my readers to check out from your area?

It’s insane how many good bands there are from around the Pacific Northwest.  Izthmi is a fantastic band that brings fresh ideas to the black metal genre. Some great grind bands include Nekro drunkz and Disease.

5. If you could make a proper video from any track on Split which would it be any why?

It would be Perpetual Greed since it’s the longest! There might not be time to tell a story for the rest of them, haha!

6. Live vs studio which matters more to the band and how do they differ?

I think they’re both equally important. You have to be perfect in the studio while you have to be perfect and energetic during the live show!

7. Is there a running themes on Split for both Treasonist and Y-INCISION?

The main idea is that technology and the modern world are horrible influences on humanity itself.

8. How has social media and Digital age changed how extreme underground artists  create music in 2019?
Social media has become a requirement for every band. I hate it, but it’s a great way to stay in touch with fans and keep people updated on when and where we’re playing.

9. Are visuals and imagery important to A band like Treasonist  or no?

We try to have a consistent theme to our imagery, but it’s not the most important part of Treasonist.

10. Do you see underground music expanding to larger audiences or has it become something that is much tribal and has to be seeked out?

It’s never going to go mainstream. You definitely have to go find it.

11. If you could tour with any band who would it be and why?

Oh that’s a tough question. There are so many great bands out there and I don’t think I can pick just one!

12. What bands are impressing members of Treasonist  currently?

Vitriol is another fantastic band from Portland that is currently killing it! There are so many good bands out there!

13. Do the members of Treasonist have other projects if so tell us about them?

Brian is in a ton of other projects. Aenigmatum, Power Beast, and Diabolic Oath are a few of them.

14. If Treasonist wasnt band any longer what talents would fill this creative void?

I would wither and die, but I can’t speak for the other guys, haha.

15. Thank you for the time Any closing thoughts here..
