The Experimental Side of Aural thinking ...

En Nihil - Existence in reverse- Digital/ 3" CD ( Inner Demons)

Were to start with a 22 minute single track of pulsing  maniacal rhythms, driving noise, power electronic and an almost demonic overtone to the presentation as a whole. I think at times Demons themselves are screaming to get out of the abyss they are in but what the fuck do I know. I'm just reviewing this dense slab of harsh electronic glory. If there are soundtracks to an apocalyptic  End of Days you have 22 minutes of it right here. From the grim and minimalist cover to the all of aggressive and nightmarish tones and ideas coming from En Nihil two decades later this is another step in Adam's stronghold on a harsh blackened noise genre.

AJNA -Oracular- Digital/ CD ( Cyclic Law)

Unsettling this is the 1st thoughts that come to mind when listening to  New York's AJNA. From reading a bit this about an out of body journey to another realm. This realm is either sinister in being or the way our minds experience it are not in a positive light. I feel very alone and confused  as this journey continues as I can not tell if this traveler is terrorized or likes the feeling on the unknown and is a seeker of the dark arts and where it can take them. Oracular Darkness and Low end assault on the senses is really what works the best here. Dark Ambient and Occult themes are how experimental music like this truly draws me in.  Honestly maybe we are scaring the beings of this dimension more then they are effecting us. Either way 10 tracks of again very Unsettling  Dark Industrial/ Ambient occult filled creations.

Beyond the Ghost- Eternal Drift-Digital/CD ( Cryo Chamber)

I feel this album has a theme or feeling too and that is  Isolationist meets Haunting minimal Neoclassical. Beyond the Ghost feel like they are on an endless travel to find something that is never going to be there for them and the harder they search the less the find what they are looking for and dig deeper in to thoughts, feelings and sorrows others have left behind to paint a picture of the past and the future of what was to be. Eternal Drift feels like a post rock album going Ambient and Neoclassical maybe a avant movie soundtrack to a lost film that was never suppose to be seen and now it's been unearthed with more questions then answers. Beyond the Ghost masterfully created emotional filled Dark experimental art and let the listener on the path as more then listener. You want up to experience this with you and at the end of the day this is what makes soundscape music so special to those of us that seek it out .

Dead Melodies- The Masterplan- Digital/CD ( Cryo Chamber)

Folks just look at the cover before we begin this sonic ride. Dead Melodies are showing us a world were Humanity did not win whatever challenges that came forth. Dead Melodies story behind this is where cyber hackers wiped out most of the human race and this is what they call the  rebuild of Earth 2.0. You can feel the sounds of rebirth and the struggle to know what is the right steps to not cause the same destruction's of the past. This is primordial Dark Ambient music in a very odd electronic and almost like an echo of the past trying to steer those young and removed form the now worlds demise into new challenges and steps for a better world. There are many frighten tones , drifts, waves of sound through out and then you hear the hope in the almost  ethno ambient elements of the tracks. Dark Ambient music is theater of the mind and it is what you see when listening that truly matters this is why the sounds here are very personal and will effect you as how you are emotionally at that time. Dead Melodies plants the seeds of this story its now you chance to write where it leads too.

NERATERRÆ -Scenes From The Sublime-Digital/ CD ( Cyclic Law)

Just starting out  Alessio Antoni come at experimental sounds in a more  Dark Tribal and  Deep Droning and Doomy overtone to his creations . Looks like from the info giving each track is a collab with a different artist in the Industrial, Electronic and Harsh music scenes.

"This journey features collaborations by Alphaxone, Dödsmaskin, Leila Abdul-Rauf, Mount Shrine, Phelios, Phragments, Shrine, Xerxes The Dark, George Zafiriadis from Martyria and Yann Hagimont from Cober Ord."

There is a much denser feeling to all the tracks here and there is an immediate feeling of needing to be attended too. I know what I'm saying is a bit odd but listen to the album and the attention getting is clear. I just feel a heaviness to all of this release. It has that same feel that artists like  Sephiroth, In Slaughter Natives and Schloss Tegal create in their  structures and craft. Yet at the end of the day each track really ties into the next to make a complete picture and that is very hard to do with so many artists working together on one release. Please take the time to really dig into this one as you will see some many side of  Dark Ambient, Ethno Ambient and Post Experimental  music. If you were not a fan it will have a great chance to make you one.
