A lot of shit I just reviewed because I wanted too. You're Goddamn welcome....

Sxuperion- Omniscient Pulse- Digital/CD ( Bloody Mountain Records )

A side project of drummer for Valdur, Weverin. What we have here is a Sci-fi atmospheric Death/Doom journey. That can go from ethereal to bombastic and to places so deep/ subterranean. The guttural vocals feel lower and more heavy then the down tuned guitars themselves. Very much love the way the effects and synths are layered in to bring the sorrow and nightmares to a complete picture. I get feeling of bands like  Womb, Stalaggh, Mindrot, Esoteric, Loss, Bethlehem and Shining ( Sweden). I'm really hooked on this mix pd  Dark metal, Doom, Sci fi, Avant Nightmarish Death metal and just the total break down of the human elements is going on here. Sxuperion I will be looking into the past to see if I can find more . I don't hear much black metal here but there are moments where you know that is a part of where its all came from.  Suffering has never sounded so power as it does here and that really say something about the connection this album is making to me.

Buried Realm- Embodiment of the Divine- Digital/CD ( Self Released)

Symphonic, Tech, MeloDeath is what I would call this and Josh Dummer has mad an album that mixes elements of  Carcass, Soilwork, Children of Bodom for sure. This album has some amazing folks working with Josh as well.

Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est), Benjamin Ellis (Scar Symmetry), Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind), Dean Arnold (Operus, ex-Vital Remains), Lee McKinney (Born of Osiris), Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), Rafael Trujillo (ex-Obscura), Ryan Strain (Chaos For The Masses)

Buried Realm is  heavy, catchy, groove and epic all at the same time and has those amazing Soilwork and Scar Symmetry melodies going on that hook on and will not let go. The vocals come very from that Carcass and Entombed School on Earache Death metal. There are these very prog metal overtones through out as well. I see that Dan Swano Mastered the album as well. Just making it sound all the better. These 9 songs really so slay nice and impressive work Josh.

Night High Tides-Distant Skies- Digital/CD ( The Sign Records )

Where the hell did Night come from well that would be from 1977 to 1985 folks. This Swedish force sounds like  Yes, UFO, Diamond Head, Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest all had a damn love child and this is what came to be out of this is hard rock and classic metal at its best. I would even say Saxon , Foghat and Blue oyster cult as well. They love those catchy / infectious acoustic/electric riffs and those the almost Celtic vocal like style. This is making me relive my youth of 80's Fm radio on all those amazing  Rock stations.  There really isn't more to say other then if you like anything I just mentioned get this album and you will be in ultimate bliss.

Battle Dagorath - Abyss Horizions- Digital/LP/CD ( Avantgarde Music )

The sixth release by this  Tolkien inspired  project out of California. What is Battle Dagorath? It's in essence a one man Atmospheric occult post black metal creation that love to mix in some  Blackgaze and Ambient Black metal into the pot to make the mix and arrangements a bit more noisey and unsettling as a whole. The atmosphere and shrill tones really bring out the drones and waves of icy cold guitar tones with those synths and drums that clearly sound like an approaching army to war. The shrieking and chanting vocal layers in the background struggling to come to the surface work all the better. Battle Dagorath is a project that has been clearly thought out as they have been with us since 2008 and still going . I see the term Spectral Black metal being used and that really does have a nice ring to it all lets go with that.

666 (Norway) 666 -DIGITAL/LP/CD (Nuclear War Now! Productions)

Honestly I don't think I've ever asked this before but you are fucking with this on me right? I sound like it was recorded on boom box in 1980 and then put on cassette just to make it as punk, raw, cult and true as fuck?????? Oh look it was recorded in 1982 I'm on the right track here. It sound like like it was live and they are. This is were Noise Rock, Punk, Retro Satanic Metal and Pysch Rock all merge into something that is not for me at all but maybe for you. I normally love most that comes from NWN but for this was not even needed to be pressed as we have Venom, Hellhammer , Sodomand Bathory already :)

Moonlow -Who Are You- Digital/Cassette/CD  (Trepanation Recordings)

Post Punk, Apocolyptic Noise, Pysch Ambient, Anti music, Spoke word Industrial/Ambient Folk. Occult , Mystical and just amazingly awesome and left of center. If you mixed Sonic Youth, Jarboe, Aghast, Hagalaz Runedance, Dark Throne and Pharmakon. We are heading into a direction that would make me feel you would dig this. Moonlow is so twisted , eerie and different it will take most many listens to understand and maybe even like. This is the mose offensive sounding record that I have fallen in love with in a long while. I feel there are even elements of Youth Code going on here in the best of intentions. This is aural soundscapes for another realm of thought and creation itself. Live this has to be a total mind fuck. This is metaphysical is all the right ways. Time for you to unlock the doorways to the other dimensions of thought and creativity with Moonlow.

ORPLID- Deus Vult- Digital/LP/CD  ( Prophecy Productions / Auerbach Tonträger)

If you don't know who Orplid you have a dozen or so albums to go back and understand the magnitude of creation and expression that has be presented to the world. I will say  Goth, Coldwave, post punk, Neo Folk, Electronica, Martial industrial, Ambient and Neoclassic are just some of the themes that Orplid has and will continue to focus on.  Bauhaus, Der Blutharsch, Sanctum, Blood Axis, Wumpscut, Puissance , Liabach and Sol Invictus are just some of the band that ebb and flow within the sounds , styles and focuses of this genre bending project. I hate to use a term like Post Industrial for a band like this as the do so so much more. I would even say bands like  3rd and the Mortal, Dead can Dance and Lycia have elements of what Orplid create and releases to the world. Orplid is always thought provoking to say the very least. With Deus Vult this German unit is no less impressive and remarkable.

Grid-Livsleda-Digital/CD ( SelfMadeGod )

Pissed off and to the point Swedish Grindcore. Sometimes you just don't need a reason to be fucking awesome, Thrash about , Kick ass and take names Grid is just what the DR orders for this guys. With the new Napalm Death out now and this. Both these bands are going to make take out my Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer, Black Army Jacket and Assuck albums out and have a fucking  Grindcore event. You know what Grid thank you for ending the review batch with this album. I love the experimental moments of noise, feedback and odd elements thrown in to make this all the more eventful and interesting. If you don't love Grindcore why???? WTF is wrong with you . This is the real punk of 2020 and forward. Grid you fucking crush this record... Thank you again..
