Blistering and Festering Black Death Duo from France. This has all the elements your looking for Driving guitar and bass tones. Those warlike elements, Strong production and those Throaty Blackened vocals like Tom G warrior and Bathory in the days of yore had. The occult elements are strong withing the tracks of this E.P. Ther are some very old school extreme thrash element that remind me of bands like early Sepultura and Kreator in what I'm listening too. Hexekration Rites are very much a punishing style and presentation of Black/Death. The odd distant melodies work over all in the full picture. Honestly really digging the tasty solos going on through out the album too. They have a very 90's vibe and just indeed you should check them out.

Aethyrick- Gnosis - Digital/ LP/CD (The Sinister Flame)
Ahh Finland you bring me more music to sink my teeth into . This time again its a duo of Gall and Exile . There are elements of Folk ,Heathen and Avant Progressive styles as well as more Primitive and cold Scandinavian Black metal but the like to mix an Orchestral elements and very haunting harmonies to the over all sound. These are very traditional Black metal vocals layered on the album and work well with that Pagan/Folk aural backdrop. Aethyrick know how to make catchy and memorable Blackened Death as well this just leans more to the Blackened side of the spectrum for sure. Massive one moment then Sinister the next there label name has much to do with what Aethyrick want to present and create. We have another very interesting journey here with " Gnosis "

Goatblood -Apparition of Doomsday- Digital/ LP/ CD (Dunkelheit)
A third review of a duo this time from Germany. Goatblood is Sludgy, punkish Black Death with a very much caustic lumbering Death/Grind over tone. Is this war metal I would say very close my readers. This is an ugly and terrifying album in presentation, creation and result. " Apparition of Doomsday" is the kind of album that makes you want to " FUCK SHIT UP" and from time to time you don't want but need any album like this. The guttural vocals are so over the top with those blistering doomy riffs ( I don't know how you can play fast and still be doomy but Goatblood has totally succeeded). It even has at time those mid tempo mosh riffs that get you going even more. Goatblood you just keeping on doing what your doing and I will keep coming back to be beating musically over and over again.
Pombajira- Pombajira- Digital/CD (Helldprod)
What an odd combination for this unit out of Brazil. This is Celtic Frost meets Cathedral with some strong Bathory overtones... Extreme Thrashy Viking Retro Doom... Call me perplexed with this one. Pombajira is like the late 80's and 90's mashed all of the underground metal into some bastard's brew and said take this as we are or move alone. This is very eerily hypnotic and brilliant of a Frankenstein creation. If you like those Viking Bathory vocals meets those old Cathedral snarls then this is something you need to run to and pick up. The music lives off of hellhammer meet celtic frost worship even some sodom for good measure. I just can't stop listening and that is a sure sign that this is deep in the underground and never coming out. Pombajira are one of the few times I will say Retro is not a band word but a perfect word for an album this stellar!!!
Disharmony-Messe de Minuit- Digital/LP/Tape/CD(Iron bonehead/Nuclear war now!)
Epic Gothic tinged Black thrash is what I'm getting and the vibe that Disharmony is throwing out to the world. the grim vocals , very 70's horror synths and the over the top Thrash riffs and solos with a Blackened metal overtone. To me this is a mix of Deinonychus, Devil Doll ,Mercyful Fate and Absu. Disharmony is another one of those bands just pulling all the right levels to mix styles that make it catchy, creepy and intense enough to make you want to dig deeper and peel the layers of this band to see what is really going on. This could be be a sound track for a very messed up Sci/Horror movie or series and really add to the over all story and plot of the event. There is a very Technical and innovative side to what Disharmony is presented to us all. I love when black metal take a risk and goes off the rails in a way that is doesn't normally. This does that as well as keeps the core of Black metal very much at the heart of this beast!!!
