3 Reviews as Feb is a short month ....

Blue Hummingbird On The Left -Atl Tlachinolli -LP/CD/TAPE  (Iron Bonehead / Nuclear War Now! / Crepúsculo Negro )

Sinster Pagan Black metal with a fury of industrial and extreme thrash metal and that heart and sould of punk all coming through. Beastial Black metal and Barbaric are words that would be used  wonderfully for this album as well. I love the heavily reverbed vocals thats are very throaty and not as grim as normal they really work. That Slayer meets Celtic Frost guitar tone is something that always gives me chills . The Blistering  drumming that is almost going off the rails at times adds to the manic elements of the over all theme and feeling of the album, There is a very 90's Punk meets Black metal vibe and that is the kind of more raw style that has always drawn this reviewer. Black metal at the base of it all is supposed to be brutal and noisy and those boxes are very much checked off here. This is way over the top for the middle of the road metal fan but for those that love to travel down the forbidden roads this is just what the doctor ordered..

1914 -The Blind Leading the Blind- CD/Digital/LP  (Redefining Darkness Records (N.America) | Archaic Sound (Europe) )

There are times that  Death metal takes a path that you just want it to and its what you need to hear not what you want to hear.. With 1914 there are three elements going on there that are really just making this one of the most impressive album I currently listening to. The WW1 war theme is just icing on the cake. This is clearly Epic Black Death Doom in the way bands like  Bolt Thrower, Ancient Wisdom, Marduk, Hypocrisy and Paradise Lost have mastered over the decades. I here elements of Swedish and Finnish Death metal through out as well as that Swedish and German Black Death love. 1914 have made a stunning release to say the least about it . I love the tank, aeral and battle samples through out as well. I really have not the words more then what I have said . This is throughly impressive and I will be listening to the extreme metal classic in the making for years to come .

The Art of Conjuring - Hibernation- Digital/CD (Self Released)

Industrial  Death metal is something that always impresses me if done well and with  The Art of Conjuring they are really inspired by Fear Factory, Meshuggah , God lives underwater and Strapping young lads and that is all very good to me I do hear a lot of Gorjira and  Machine head through out as well. So Thrashing  Industrial Death is reall the best way to describe this band for sure. The production is so tight and powerful the vocals really shine the Death and melodic sung ones with the driving metallic guitar and drums. The Bass really has an amazing  Prong meets Gothenburg sharp tone. The Art of Conjuring is one of those bands that must have chosen to be an indie band as labels have to be offering and looking at them. The songs are so damn heavy and catchy makes me want to listen to them over and over again.  There is even a tech death element going on from time to time here . I end this review with do not miss out as this album came out in later 2018 and 2019 they need to get noticed !!!!
