DIMENTIANON- Collapse the void-CD (Paragon Records)

What we have here is some challenging Symphonic Black Death in a very Swedish overtone on how the tracks are arranged . Reminds me a lot of bands like mix of bands like Dark Funeral ,Edge of Sanity, Dissection all in a stew of melody, melancholy, doom, death and despair. Dimentianon are not from Sweden they are from NY so it makes it all the more interesting to review them. There are some amazing orchestral moments in the way Neoclassic artist present it. Dimentianon is mix of so many sounds and elements its hard to really tie them down as there are moments I swear they sound like Amorphis too. All I can say is with out a doubt this is a very exciting metal release with many avant elements. Well worth checking out..

Bison B.C.- Dark Ages-CD (Metal Blade Records)

Bison BC is very select mix of sound that aligned in the right fashion makes a band that will rip your face off with the riffage that is going on here. if  the most kick ass rocking elements of Clutch, Mastadon and Pantera were all put into a blender and then a heavy does of thrash was thrown in for good measure you would have what The Bison are offering and you know what . Hell YA !!! this kicks ass.  The catchy element to this is what makes it all the more interesting I swear I hear horns in this album too many I'm nuts.. Bison BC also love Neurosis that much is very clear and this album is just so balls out heavy in its approach how can you not just love it. Even the acoustic or more progressive moments are epic it the nature they are presented. Metal Blade has one hell of a band here and I need to hear their previous album now.. All hail the sound of DOOM!!!

11 AS IN ADVERSARIES- The Full Intrepid Experience of Light-CD (ATMF)

ATMF is a label that likes to confuse as much as inspire the listener to take your thought of what conventional music is then twist it 180 degree and then flip it the other way again. 11 AS IN ADVERSARIES reminds me of the 90's Noise/ Indie rock bands on labels like Amrep, Touch and Go then mix in Blues and Avant Metal for something that is not really heard by many listeners .  This band is really bizarre yet really really good. Damn this band is doing what  Ulver did to me after hearing the William Blake's Themes  double CD. There making me rethink how music is really created.  I don't Know if I'm going to be able to listen to much beyond this for a few days as I've totally fallen in love with this release. It really has it all Avant, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Noise, Metal, Prog and Punk elements through out this  album.  for fans of Manes, Devin Townsend, Code and Bogus Blimp.. Must Listen I tell you now...

THE SEQUENCE OF PRIME-Virion-CD (Self Releases)

So what we have here is Man and Machine clashing wonderfully on a industrial metallic journey. I'm heard this kind of hatred before but never really with these kind of elements if you can imagine for a moment Voivod, Fear Factory, Neubaten, NIN and Kreator all mix into a fist in the face of convention. The vocals are just noisy distorted and yelled at while the guitars are those of a Thrash metal band sped up and the drums and synths and backing music sounds like an industrial band that needs to add the noise and speed to it as if they played to slow they may just explode. There is a very futuristic element to all of this on Virion and it adds to the over all beauty and disgust to a band like this. The Sequence of prime is one pissed off project and I really want to see where this goes we need more...

FURZE- REAPER SUBCONSCIOUS GUIDE-CD (Agonia Records)

So what if Doom, Lofi Black metal and just general weirdness was mixed all together is a band that was on a mission to blur the lines of art and aural instruction. Well then you would get a band called Furze . This has to be one of the oddest Black metal projects I have ever heard. The best way I can even begin to explain Furze would be what if Early Genesis was a Black metal band and feel in love with Black Sabbath. Yes I know I'm thinking the same the thing WTF???. To be honest this is just want this band or better one man force sound like. Agonia is a label that is very hit or miss with me and this time out Furze is a Major Hit for this reviewer..
