Kill Devil Hill- Revolution Rise- CD/ Digital ( Century Media)

So the 2nd release of a Supergroup in my eyes. Members of  Black Sabbath, Dio, Down, Pantera and Pissing Razors have come to be a band that mixed  Heavy Rock, Southern Blues, Metal and Area Rock into something that is just amazing . I really love this band if you could mix Alice in chains, Skid Row , Iced Earth and All that Remains . You will get something close. This band is  heavy and catchy at the same time. This band could bring back the  Area metal world that MTV had in the 80s/90s . Everything is epic in sound with this band. The Vocals are  massive clean and growled/screamed. The Melodic metal solo are just killer the Rhythm section is Vinnie Appice and Rex Brown enough said there right.. Century media made the right choice picking this one up as they could sell a million albums no issue with right promotion and videos out there.  If you like  Hard rock, power metal and Heavy Blues Metal in one tasty album then there is no way to pass up on this get it asap....

As Oceans- The Relics of Axiom- CD/ Digital (Self Released)

Prog/ Tech Death metal in the highest of fashions. This reminds me of bands on labels like  Willowtip or Listenable as they have that Sci-Fi/ Futurist element going on through out the release the skill level is massive of this release. If you like your Death metal to make you think or to have total chaotic feel to it with 100 riff changes in a single song then do not pass up this brilliant force out of  North Carolina. Then the band switches things up and goes for that melodic euro sound bands like  Inflames, Soilwork or Dark Tranquility as so well known for.  This unit remind me of  Neuraxis, Gigan, Gorguts or even  Devin Townsend in presentation with a lot of love for bands like Early Meshuggah and Gorjira.. As Oceans you won me over and need a label home ( Willowtip are you listening !!!!).  I need to hear more  and more and more. Great work indeed...

Cronian- Erathems-CD/ Digital ( Season of Mist  Underground Activists)

So what do you get from Two members of  Borknagar .Vintersorg and Oystein have given you a more  Prog and Melodic version of  Borknagar. I'm actually shocked this is not just a Borknagar album as this sound like what  Borknagar are heading towards with every release anyway. There is a bit more of the Fantasy/ Electronic elements going here but it still very much sounds like a a Post Black  Prog metal release. Were the Duo have traveled many times before. Don't confuse this for a moment as this a total ass kicking release and I'm damn glad I got to hear and review it but if you a fan of  Arcturus, Borknagar, Code or Amorphis your going to love this little magical gem on Season of Mist . the Synth work reminds me of some of the amazing work in Emperor or Dimmu Borgir. Again Cronian is a great project all on its all. There are two early releases I read so now I need to back track and get those as well. That tells you how much I'm enjoying this.

Sheol (UK)- Sepulchral ruins below the temple- CD/ Digital/ LP (Iron Bonehead/ Invictus Productions)

So know the music that bubbles from the underbelly of darkness it's very self well if your into bands like  WOMB, Incantation, Ceremonium , Cianide and Demigod then you need to get this album with out fail. So much pain and low end in their Blackend Death metal assault on mankind. The blistering muddy riff and vocals so low and growled it sounds like the demons themselves have spoken from the depths of hell to let out such anti hymns....  This is what ultra extreme music was like in the 90's early 00's there is nothing technical about this. Sheol comes from that place that just makes you want to wreck everything around you till you pass out. We need more Death metal like this and Sheol you better never change. This is sound powerful it just don't want to stop listening and at the end of the day is that not what is the sign of a great album..

Valdur- At war with- CD/ Digital ( Bloody Mountain)

So more Occultist have come to be reviewed this time in that Black Death style that I seem to find so damn appealing. Valdur is full or  Blast beats, War metal, Tormented Vocal and just a level of insanity needed to make an album like this work. Its almost hypnotic is the way it's recorded and presented. Remember when Death metal and Black metal was actually something that was taboo or forbidden and you were willing to spend $20 a CD just to hear it from Redstream, Displeased or Osmose mailorders.  Well welcome to 2014 where this is how Valdur will make you feel. I need more bands like this as well. Were genres are thrown to the wind and you just make a kick ass extreme metal release . Valdur I want many more to come as this is just great metal...

Naxal Protocol- The Guilty should get what they Deserve- CD/ Digital ( Eibon Records)

MMMM.... Harsh electronic , Tones and  just waves of pain and madness from the bottom of  my heart thank you Eibon for keeping up doing what you do. If you like bands like Control, Brighter Death now, Megapatera, Slogun, Sickness, MZ412 this is where all the darkness and wonder comes from this project was called  Cazzodio if you remember them then this is very much just a continuation of the nightmares spread by them. Naxal Protocal will be a curse to many to try and even listen to but I will tell you with the following release you have brought a huge smile to my face. Welcome to where industrial music matters to me and all i can say is more please more....

Neronoia-Sapore di luce e di pietra- CD/ Digital ( Eibon Records)

Dark Industrial with an emptiness that is just so stunning that I can fall into it for days and just get lost. There is an experimental, Neoclassic overtone here as well somewhere in the Spiritual Front meets Boyd Rice meets  Sanctum realm. This sounds like  jazz or retro release reworked from the 1920 to 1930's . Just  delicately layered, looped at times then made into a spacial nightmares and torment at other times. The way Septhiroth or In Slaughter Natives could do so. I think they have a love for Cold wave music as well in the arrangements.  There is a romantic element to all of this as a whole too. Beautiful music is just that and Neronoia is Wonderful, Special and magical all at the same time do not let bands like this fade away ..

Sisters of.... -Follow me as a ghost- CD/ Digital (Crowquill)

Post Rock, Post Metal, Post Prog all these sub genres and more just touch the surface on Sister of. If your into bands like Agalloch, Wolvserpent, Neurosis, Russian Circles, Caspian, Isis etc then you will get this band and all the wonderment around it. The album goes from the most  Fragile and sparse to Follow and Epic metallic movements all sometimes within the same song. The vocals are distant and haunting  some are samples or some are chants some are whispers all of it make Sisters of  something that you will not often hear unless so seek it out on labels like  Translation Loss, Sargent House, Alien 8 or  Hydra head. You have to be open to many style all clashing at once and not limiting your musical ideals. Sisters of... is one of the more majestic releases I've heard in while . They even sneak in Goth or  Hardcore elements into this album when you not ready for it and when it's gone you want it back.  Follow me as a ghost is not pop release most of the tracks are eight plus minutes long and it's because they need time to breathe , grow , expand and fade into memory . All it does is make you want to listen to it more.  Crowquill has a gem here now we as the music underground need to get this to the masses so they can see what they are missing in their lives .... Passion and  Creativity in music.....
