Blutmond- The Revolution is Dead-CD (Code666)

This is a unit of madness, chaos , wonder and diabolical ideal and I'm a better man for hearing it. If you like D.H.G , Old At the Gates and Old Opera IX you coming close to this project they like to add the experimental/ electronic side like Manes and  Fleurety at times too. Then they full on go into a Gothic Metal moment like Tiamat or Old Dead Tree in the next moment. Blutmond is truly all over the place but damn do I love the horns . Yup I'm a total sucker for the horn passages.  I would again call this a thinking man Black metal band. As they do have some in common with bands like A Forest of Stars, Alcest and Kovenant  as well. There really is a lot going on with this one. Be fore warned that this is challenging levels and music ahead. The Revolution is Dead is just jaw dropping musical output from at band that should be so much more well exposed then they are but you know what it makes it all the more special for us in the know... GET THIS......

Dragged into Sunlight- Widowmaker-CD (Prosthetic Records)

I have never heard this project before as my 1st listen starts this is 3 long track and as I opens and begins its a Depressive Dark Gothic /Dronish Rock journey into a place of mental unstablity and feeling of hopelessness I almost feel a more Dark ambient side to this band then anything. It reminds me of the more mellow moments of Bands like Bethlehem and Deinonychus. With Part II this becomes a wall of Doom and Dark metal with vocals that remind me of most of the best sludge and crust bands out there. Dragged into Sunlight are a group of angered souls to say the least. If Buzzoven or Eyehategod were more doom and epic in production they would be Dragged into Sunlight sister forces for mayhem and destruction. They sure to like to bring in the Doom/Death into the picture as well from time to time and then its gone back into that  Dark, Hardcore, Sludge , Gothic stew that I've not heard before. This is more crazy as hell release. With Part III the experimentation takes hold again with the dark depressive ending. I would say if your ready for a musical roller coaster this is one of the better ones out there.

Kontinuum- Earth Blood Magic-CD ( Candlelight )

When its Candlelight Records and Black metal its seem as of late it Raw and noise or its Epic Ethereal Post Black metal and this is the side of the fence Kontinuum is on if your a fan of bands like Fen, Les Discrets, Ihsahn, Katatonia or Dornenriech.. There is a very Heathen/ Pagan back to earth feeling to this whole release its not ritualistic more just Nature based as the guitars and bass flow through out the album. The vocals are that of the German Neofolk style that bands like Tenhi have made so popular over the years. Kontinuum have a fragile side to them as well in the Post Rock / Avant side the more acoustic edge moments arrive to you.  If you want raw, bombastic satanic BM this is the wrong ride for you but it you like tormented BM with a Folk, Avant and Death element in the music you have found another mini masterpiece in the making.
