Coffin Rot- A Monument to the  Dead- CD/ Digital/Tape/LP ( Blood Harvest/ Rotted Life)

After a very well received Demo Coffin Rot come to us with a Grinding/ Sludgy and ugly slab of  Death Doom that comes from the very Bowels of despair itself. There are also some very Technical and Catchy movements on " A Monument to the Dead" . This is Dirty Punk and Thrash overtone throughout all of its Doomy goodness. It's like Winter, Cathedral and Bolt Thrower had a love child. This  Northwest force by way of Portland is impressive as all hell. Coffin Rot are so much more than just Death metal and an Intro piece by Abjection Ritual is awesome as all get out lets just be straight about that. Thrash, Grind, Gore, Death , Doom and walls of punishment that is down right catchy as fuck. Coffin Rot you keep making music like this and I'll keep listening.

NightFucker-S/T- Digital/ LP (Sentient Ruin )

So What do you get when Ex- Moss Guitarist joins with members of Radioactive Vomit, Goatsblood, Deathwinds, and Ceremonial Bloodbath. You get a Crusty, Sludge filled  Doom and Dirge filled journey that sounds like the bastard cousins of  Noothgrush, Cavity, Grief ,Corrupted and Buzzoven. So at the end of the day this is some truly mindblowing bad ass shit that is going to kick your teeth in and make you thank them for it. You can hear the pain and hurt in the sickness that is being produced through the speakers. They have a Graves at Sea and Melvins vibe in the much about them with the way it lumbers and devastates at the same time. Damn the music is so heavy and vocals are so tortured and strep throat in that doomy approach. I just want to break cinderblocks over peoples heads listening to this. Nasty and Repulsive Doom is just what the doctor ordered.... Best of all its 4 songs all ranging from 7 to 11 minutes AHH!!! this are my people !!!!

Fought upon Earth- Grave Miscalculation- Digital (Self Released)

When I say featuring former members of Acid King, Secrets Of The Sky, And Scorched-Earth Policy  what kind of music do you think your getting well if you say Heavy , Dark ,Doomy Instramental Prog Metal is that the 1st thought  because if you take the vocals away from bands like Nevermore, Mastadon, Russian Circles, Watchtower and Coroner are really what I'm hearing and loving every minute of it . This is a jaw dropping musically as it is complex, melodic and forward thinking. Bands like this need no words to get across the power and beauty of what they are are trying to create. I even heard elements of Iced Earth and Gamma Ray in what is going on with Heavy Metal meets Hard rock . That Crossover of bands like  Galactic Cowboys and Behold the arctopus. Fought upon Earth are getting under my skin and will not be an easy band to let go of I can tell you that for sure. There are some very cool Jazzy moments going on and they are making for a more avant journey then I thought earlier on with listens to Grave Miscalculation. Really would love to see this live as its just a duo doing the recordings I wonder if that will ever happen. Look forward to the next time we meet ..

Silence in the Snow- Levitation Chamber-CD/ Digital/LP (Prophecy Productions)

Just from the 1st few songs I want go out and say this is Death Rock, Neo Folk, Dream Pop and Gothic Neoclassic in a wonderful swirl of sounds , emotions and aural landscapes. Are you fans of  Third and the Mortal, Dead can Dance, Sister of Mercy, Amber Asylum, Hagalaz Runedance, Jarboe. The haunting vocals/ guitars of Cyn are a stunning compliment to Trevors very Post Punk/ Dark Rock elements that are very akin to Beastmik and Grave Pleasures.  I would also say we have a Siouxsie and the banshees and Kate Bush love going on with in the tracks without a doubt. It really is impressive to see a current Wolves in the Throneroom and EX-DeafHeaven member collabing on something so diverse and just down right impressive. Sometimes passion and make the music and with a band like Silence in the Snow this  Oakland California upstart is doing just that. There are some Shoegazing and Post Goth love showing up strongly as well. The eastern musically notes really do shine as well and just make the whole album even more enjoyable to listen too. It's not always about how heavy and brutal music can be it’s about the creativity and here a bit of both is coming through at all times..
