1. Tell us how Way to end came to be?

Way to End was formed some years ago. We wanted to play black metal. There is not much more to say.

2.Your musical style is a very heavy mix of Avantgarde Rock mixed with Black metal and Progressive doom sounds . Who or what influenced this very original outcome?

Our mains influences are black metal, classical and contemporary music. From classical music, we have taken the will to escape the common rock structures and to give up building songs with a certain amount of riffs. Instead, we try to make the music evolve by developing themes and by limiting the repetitions. It allows us to express complex thoughts by stressing the contrasts and nuances between the different parts. From contemporary music we have taken the complex harmonies, how to build a melody through dissonance and how to make the ear used to it.

3.Is there a running theme through out Desecrated Internal Journey?

As stated in the title, the album describes an internal journey. It is the musical description of an introspection that occurs through the process of creating. Creating makes you face what you really are because it brings to reality a part of what lies hidden from consciousness. It is a journey because as you go deeper, the things you discover are what you tried to escape more. Accepting or refusing these findings is part of the topic of the album. This process is also what makes you evolve. By looking at what you are, you become different; neither better nor worse but different. The album describes some stages of this journey but there no arrival. By becoming different, you have to begin a new journey to understand better this new state of mind. More than a vicious circle it is a spiral going always deeper.

4. Are you pleased with your partnership with Debemur Morti Productions so far?

We are fully satisfied from the work of Debemur Morti. He has a very good distribution network and he did a lot in promoting the band eventhough it is our first album. Besides he is used to release albums from unusual bands, so we are proud that he got interested in Way to End.

5. Is what Way to End even black metal or are you beyond genres? I feel your in the same place bands like DHG, Code, Arcturus and Virus has gone a mix of many genres making it all there own?

Isn't it what black metal should be? Bands sharing the same musical basis and some extra musical ideas, but not bands doing the same music. We play black metal the way we think it should be. Once you begin to do personal music, it will sound different. However, this process is long and painful because you have to know yourself, your abilities and limits. You also have to analyse your way of composing and what in your style comes from other people.

6. The artwork for Desecrated Internal Journey is so abstract and open ended what does the artwork for the CD release mean for you?

The artwork is an illustration of the journey. Each page represents a stage of the journey. That is the reason why you can see so many elements in the background when watching closely. The cover for example is divided into two parts, the inner and the outer part of the medal. This medal represents the hole in which you have to dive when you decide to begin an "internal journey". The figure of the old man in the middle represents what you could get from such a journey, his age suggests that it is wisdom but from his look, it could be madness as well. Maybe they are not so different but just depend

on the point of view. Only one thing is for sure: when you seek to know you are, the answer is never the one you expected. In a certain way, you lose your innocence and this is represented by the angel falling out of the hole.

7. If you could tell the world in words what the mission is for Way to end what would it be and why have you gong this path?

If we have a mission, it is only a personal one. We want to push our musical boundaries as far as possible and see what kind of music we can produce. Rodin (a french sculptor) said he was not shaping the stone but only discovering the shape of the sculpture while working. I feel the same. I don't know exactly what is going on when I write music but I want to see what I am able to do.

8. Youv'e been around since 2006 why did it take 3 years to get you sounds of chaos and control out?

We had to learn to work together while improving our musical skills. At the beginning, we were not good enough to play the songs that were written. We also recorded a demo but we never released it and we threw it away. We found it too bad to be released. Finally we recorded the album one year ago, but the mastering, the artwork and the time needed for finding someone willing to release the album took us quite long.

9. Now each songs seems to matter between the music and sounds as much as the parts of each tone and aural structure , Its this recorded as a full band or do you go into studio layer by layer and build the album sonicly?

All the music except the drums is first written on paper. Then all the members learn their parts. Some minor changes are made during rehearsals. When we enter studio, we just record what has been planned. There is no modification that occur while recording. I don't believe that awesome ideas can be found suddenly. Some ideas might come to you (or not), but it is work that transform them into good music.

10. Is Way to end very different on record then live? What is Way to end show like??

Way to End's shows are about violence and chaos. People who come only to concerts for headbanging will be disappointed. Those who go to a concert for feeling a band's atmosphere and its true essence will like it. It is during live shows that you can see that Way to End is the addition of four musicians and four voices but that the music is much more than that.

11. Do you even enjoy performing live for this band?

Yes we do. We like the look of the public trying to understand what is going on as we start to play "A step into the void" or 'The sore of creation".

12. Do you think music can be a ritualistic or mind expanding event or is the musical tones in this world just to primitive to take you to the next level. I think your music is of a much higher level then most so I think the Rituals and Pagan Occult beliefs can be enhanced by Way to end.

As I said before, the music I write is is for knowing myself better. In that way, it is mind expanding. However, I know what we have put in our music but not what other people will feel when listening to it.

For answering our question, I would say that music alone can do nothing. It has to be your decision to try to reach the "next level". On a mind that is already questioning itself, music can can be a vessel of elevated consciousness.

13. Whats you thoughts on the modern digital age of musical promotion, sales and distribution does it make it less important or do you still think that there is a cream raises to the top in this 21st century musical age?

The main difference is that now everybody can record an album in his bedroom and promote it on internet. Thus the number of bands and projects has raised considerably. On the one hand, it is a good thing: it allows new ways of doing music to get known. On the other hand, a lot of shitty bands who should never have existed pretend to play music when they have one song and three pictures on internet.

14. Are there any projects metal or not that are impressing you now?

SMOHALLA. The music they do is completely out of this world.

ANGMAR. They have just released their second album. They have long songs that carry a very strong atmosphere.

15. Thank you for your time any closing thoughts

Thank you for your interest
