Falloch- Where Distant Spirits Remain-CD (Candlelight Records)
I will be honest hearing this on Candlelight its a bit shocking as they normally don't go for the ethereal Post metal sound of bands like Agalloch, Alcest, Green Carnation or Anathema as this is were Falloch lie with me . This is something you would expect to be wonderfully present by The End Records, Profound Lore, Avantgarde or Prophecy Production and given to a fan base that will always love this style. Its very delicate balance this band. The mix Viking/Folk Metal with Post rock all with huge Progressive music heart on their sleeves. I swear if you could mix Falkenbach, Porcupine Tree and Katatonia into one band you would have this complete. I'm am just stunned by the majesty of this release and how boundary defying bands are becoming in 2011. The catchy elements that are just heart stopping with the full on massive full on metal sound that comes all in the same song is just well World class!!!! Love the Acoustic's mixed with the heavy rock and heavy string and organ work going on here with a drummer that is clearly from a none rock background to have all these amazing off tempo and time movements. Falloch thank you for making my evening .

ABHOR-Ab Luna Lucenti, Ab Noctua Protecti- CD (Moribund Cult)
Italian Ambient/ Ethereal Black metal full of melody, synths and many other proggish and jazzy elements all mix with a very old world raw Black metal sound that reminds me of early polish and german black metal . There is a chilling effect going on with this music its more ritualistic and invocation in nature then of a heathen background. It almost like he took 70's indie soundtrack music to horror and scifi and mixed it with a Black metal sound very similar to bands like Manes, Abyorm and Arcturus.. I guess the tag avant could be used but its so band twisted in the presentation of how ABHOR present there music. It's almost like the want to be a 70's Prog band but the singer has fallen in love with the Ideal and visions of what old school black metal from Northern Europe was all about. I swear I hear elements of King Crimson, Genesis, When and even Goblin and Black Widow... Really liking this album as its so different and a refreshing change from either the full on symphonic or grim Black metal you get most of the time a few label get this inventive with bands they sign Code666, Ajna Offensive, ATMF etc. Moribund keeps on impressing and I can not ask for more..

LARRNAKH- Like the silken shrouds of loneliness-CD (Epidemie Records)
I swear to you all this is the 2nd coming of Blood Axis with a huge mix of Spirtual Front going on here . The clearly have there passion coming from older bands like Changes and Boyd Rice as well. I swear at times this man sounds just like Michael Moynihan. There are flowing String, Acoustic guitars, Simple powerful percussion and just that old world heathen element in the arrangements that you only here in the best and most melodic of this bands. I think I even hear a xylophone going on here. The vocals are more is a poetic singing manner then anything else they are so powerful for this martial sounding project. Larrnakh go into the martial industrial side as well and then have a very similar vibe to bands like Sophia, Arditi but it is much more subtle in creation. I'm sure what else to say if your fan of the Athanor, Cold Spring, Old Europa Cafe and Tesco world of these sound then there is no way to pass up a release like this . Stellar , Passionate and so well done.
Kriegsfall U- 3rd album- CD (Epidemie Records)
I know many are visionaries of the Martial Neo Folk scene . I was part of it for over 8 yrs putting many releases out under the moniker As All Die. This reminds me of what Nordvargr/ Folkstorm, Propergol, Von Thronstahl and In Slaughter Natives have been creating over the year mixed all together in a wonderful blend of loops, samples, war time themes, martial/Neo folk industrial elements. It feels like the 90's all over again . Neo classical movements with harsh power electronic. Its want NON wanted all along . Boyd Rice and Albin of Der Blutharsch would be so proud of a project like Kriegsfall - U. Mixing the 1910- 1940's music elements with harsh electronics just seems to work well. There is a chaos that is just beautiful here. This would be an anthem for the next industrial revolution my friends. The passion that Kriegsfall- U presents is all that is needs. I would say if you miss true martial industrial music you need to look no further. There is so much going on here with female sung vocals, spoke words pieces, Hugely distorted scream and chanting vocals all over that noise, neo folk and industrial backdrop.. Just Stunning a must listen....
